Our country is still facing constant suffering accompanied by brutal bombing by regime forces. There are countless victims of this tragic situation, which has affected not only hundreds of thousands but millions of people, who continue to suffer. Latakia, like all other Syrian provinces, is witnessing the horror of these harsh conditions. There, we met the four sons of “F.H.” – Hassan, Rawan, Razan and Rayyan. These children were deprived of the love and care of their father in their childhood years. They became orphans after they lost the head of their family because he stood up against the Syrian regime.

As a result, F.H.’s children were dispersed and ended up in refugee camps where they faced difficult living conditions, especially financially. This had a significant impact on their schooling. Given their context, these orphans did not have even the most basic requirements. They had to struggle to secure their basic needs since they had no one to help them (other than the Almighty) and because of their poor financial situation and the cruelty of this world.

In this regard, Al-Sham Humanitarian Foundation intervened to help the four orphans. With the support of Eid Charity, Al-Sham Foundation sponsored the orphans by providing a sum of money at the end of every four months, on average three times a year, in addition to giving them an Eid gift, donation or gift from time to time.

Thanks to God and to donors who provided financial donations, these efforts have changed the course of these orphaned children’s lives. They were able to go back to school after they were forced to work to secure a living. The four siblings realized their dream of re-joining school classes and stuck to them, proving their ability to work hard in their lessons and their commitment to do all their homework and tasks.

This humanitarian gesture bore fruit when Rawan Firas Haj Hussein received a certificate of excellence for excelling in all subjects, as well as being ranked first in her class. In addition, the sponsorship greatly improved their lives, lessening their suffering and enabling them to take Quranic teaching classes. The sponsorship also lightened the burden on their mother, who was working to secure a living for her children in order to provide a happy life for them and bring a smile to their faces.
