GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM
The Syrian NGO Alliance is a voluntary body, governed by membership criteria that complies with international humanitarian standards. SNA aims to effectively participate in decision-making for a better effect, qualitative, equitable, and efficient humanitarian response. The purpose is to provide a joint platform for SNGOs to collaborate and build consensus about the strategic issues confronting Syria’s Humanitarian Response. The SNA aspires to be an inclusive, representative, and independent alliance that is out in front of key humanitarian issues and recognized as a leading actor in the humanitarian community for Syria, helping to enable a functional, integrated structured response that better identifies and serves the most vulnerable.
The core function of the SNA is to facilitate coordination among members by
(a) Identifying strategic issues
(b) Advocating for common positions with a unified and consistent voice to influence policy and decision-making
(c) Sharing information, and
(d) Engaging and presenting the alliance to external stakeholders at all levels
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The SNA Coordinator will be involved in all aspects of supporting and leading humanitarian coordination activities for the Syrian NGO Alliance based in Turkey.
TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal
The SNA secretariat coordinator is responsible for facilitating coordination between the SNA members to serve the SNA mandate, including the sharing of information between members and external stakeholders according to guidelines set out by the SNA.
The SNA secretariat coordinator is also responsible for the general management of the SNA secretariat and the support services that are provided through this structure, including the day-to-day management of the Advocacy officer and Admin Assistant
Day-to-day management of the office, grants, and budget, ensuring timely reporting
Facilitate and draft strategic planning and Operational planning under the supervision of the steering committee
Implement all operational plans approved by the General assembly
Coordinate and facilitate all periodical meetings for the steering committee and the General assembly
Engage in the identification of new potential SNGO members
Draft advocacy messages under the supervision of the steering committee
Organize and coordinate press conferences and other events related to the SNA work.
To act as the spoken person for the SNA on all media platforms
Follow up with all consultants and advisors assigned to work with the SNA.
Supervise the drafting and finalizing of the Annual report and other communication materials for the SNA
Respect and apply all the PSEA principles and highly commit to reporting any SEA action.
External
Represent and participate effectively in all national forums, committees, and Groups that the SNA has a seat on, such as (HLG, ICCG, SSG, SIRF, NFO forum, Donors…etc.) this includes reporting back to the SNA
Represent and participate effectively in all National and international events and workshops concerning the SNA mandate such as the Brussels conference
· Work to ensure effective collaboration among UN, international, and Syrian NGOs

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Technical competencies: Stakeholder Relationship Management, Surveys Tools, Team Coordination, Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Presentation Skills, Effective Meeting Skills, Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence, Flexibility, Negotiation

Additional Requirements
Minimum 7 years of related experience in NGOs or INGOs.
Fluency in English and Arabic. knowledge of the Turkish language is an asset.
Ability to travel to NW Syria and abroad.
University degree in a relevant field.
