Hala Tu’mah Bahaa al-Shamri is an orphan girl from Daraa Governorate in Syria. Her story of suffering began with the loss, like many other families, of her family breadwinner who would secure their needs and support them in their miserable living conditions. Meanwhile, Hala’s mother was unable to secure her children’s needs.
Hala suffers from a total paralysis and lives with her mother and sisters in a private house, but the family was actually suffering from poverty because of the absence of a breadwinner who would secure their living needs.
Among the two thousand families who suffered from the loss of a breadwinner, and after a thorough and careful study to select the neediest cases of orphans and help them, Hala was chosen to be sponsored. Al-Sham Humanitarian Foundation, along with Eid Charity, promised to provide an amount of money for the orphan Hala in the form of payments sponsorship for every four months of each year.
After receiving the sponsorship, Hala’s mother burst into tears as she felt happy and touched. She finally found who would take responsibility for paying the costs of Hala’s permanent treatment, especially in case her condition requires surgical intervention in addition to the physical treatment.
The girl’s mother did not hesitate to raise her hands and pray to anyone who contributed, from near or far, in helping her to secure all of Hala’s needs.
Hala has been suffering from several problems due to her health condition and the absence of the breadwinner. However, the sponsorship that was provided to her contributed in changing her life. This orphaned and paralyzed girl was able to finish her treatment and to buy essential medicines and other basic needs.
At the end, we can only note the extent of the influence of the sponsorship and those who seek to provide it as this is indeed a great reward. In addition, this simple yet great contribution will change the life of an orphan for the better and ensure a respectful and happy life for him / her.
