We turn to another story of success that Al- Sham Humanitarian Foundation sought to achieve: the story of a fifth-grade pupil, Ibrahim B. from Aleppo, who is 12 years old.
Ibrahim saya: “I lost my father at a very young age so that I could not see his face or grow in his arms. “He was kidnapped and killed, which made me live deprived of my father in a crisis-torn homeland. After his death, my grandfather took care of us until the age of seven when tragedies fell on us and forced us to travel from place to place, forcing me to leave school when I was in second grade.
We ended up in this country where we had no breadwinner or supporter except God. So, we had to make our own way of life.
In fact, I was pushed into the labor market and felt miserable and humiliated when I wished to play and enjoy normal childhood. I was so eager to continue my education in order to be able to read and write like other children. That was the end of my dreams, but at that time I did not find anyone to teach me, guide me or take my hand.
The dream to become an engineer who builds monuments and paves the earth has always accompanied me. But the way I walked prevented me from pursuing my dream because life costs were prohibitive and I had to support my mother in this ordeal.
One day, life smiled at us when we were able to join Dar Al-Mahmoud for Care. My joy and delight, which were indescribable, returned to me when I sat for the first time in the school after a long time of waiting. I started to learn to read, write and learn a new language. Moreover, I could memorize two parts of Quran and have gained many skills.
I was able to go back to school and it was one of the most wonderful moments I had ever had, especially when I carried my bag and took the bus. Joy filled up my face and the eyes of my mother were crying joyfully. From that day I promised myself to continue my journey to achieve my dream of becoming an engineer.
