As a part of the efforts exerted to achieved more coordination aiming at meeting Syrian need, Al-Sham Humanitarian Foundation took part in The World Humanitarian action forum. The forum was held in İstanbul city and the conference entitled “Human dignity”.
The forum witnessed the participation of more than 500 persons, representing more than 50 international organizations and 180 local organizations and more 65 countries around the world. The forum objective was enhancing relationships between organizations working in humanitarian aid cluster and increasing the number of partnerships.
The two-days conference was hosted by Turkish Red Crescent “15-16 October”. The conference was interested in building relationships between non-governmental organizations and the ones that work in the Islamic world whether it was a donors or recipients of humanitarian aid in addition to western, international and multinational organizations. With the view to build trust between different communities, organizations and individuals and achieve the most benefit of humanitarian action.
The conference began with some speeches including the president of the forum. Dr. Hany El-Banna, assistant minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Yazou Selim Karan, the president of the Turkish Red Crescent, Mr. Karam Kanak, in addition to Mr. Anwer Khan, the manager of Islamic Relief waqf in the united states of America.
Accordingly, round table discussions were held over the two days entitled “conflicts – funding – repatriation support – flexibility).
Note that Al-Sham Humanitarian Foundation since it was established always initiate participating and supporting networking activities with humanitarian and development organizations for both donors and recipients’ countries.
