The workshop analyzed the most important strengths and weaknesses of the health sector in Syria and dealt with the mechanisms treating the negative side in addition to the development of the positive one. The participants were divided into six groups: surgery and physical rehabilitation, primary health care, secondary and specialized non-surgical healthcare, medical education and training as well as capacity building, protection and personnel as well as enterprise security and health system governance.
It is noteworthy that the Medical Sector of Al-Sham Humanitarian Foundation is one of the biggest institutions operating in this sector in Syria. The foundation manages a number of health facilities in different areas of Syria, including those in the besieged eastern Ghouta, and those specialized in the manufacturing of artificial limbs and physical therapy, along with rare medical and laboratory tests.
