With the presence of around 22 medical sector trainees from the interior regions of Syria, the first training programs of Al- Sham Academy for Emergency and Relief were launched Monday in Istanbul, Turkey. These programs are among the most important projects of the medical office of Al- Sham Humanitarian Foundation. The Academy aims to improve very quickly the level of available medical care in order to achieve an integrated medical system of emergency and relief in the interior regions of Syria.
The Academy is funded by Eid Charity Foundation and is under the supervision of experts and specialists from Hamad Medical Corporation, one of the leading medical institutions in the Middle East, which aims to provide qualified and experienced staff and highly trained personnel under the supervision of international experts.
The Academy is scheduled to operate through two branches, one is located in Turkey and is allotted for training and preparing trainers, and the other is in the interior regions of Syria and is allocated to training paramedics in the emergency systems.
The importance of the work of the Academy lies in the fact that it addresses the problem of lack of experience of part of the staff working in the interior regions of Syria, especially after the loss of many academics either by directly targeting them or as a result of their immigration abroad. It is planned that around 120 of highly qualified trainers are prepared to provide assistance to the department of the Academy in the interior regions of Syria. They will train up to 200 paramedics, what will contribute to saving the lives of more than 300 thousand wounded and injured people following the deterioration of medical conditions in Syria.
